I have to be there at 6:00 AM but i ha ve an hour and a half drive (yuck!) i am not a moning person by the way, but i cannot imagine waiting around all day! i am still unsure about bowel prep, my doctor did not metnion it, and told me i could eat until midnight, but the nurse said i had to do it, and only clear liquids the day before, defeats ... 7 Replies, Preparing for Hysterectomy (pre hysterectomy) » About the "clear liquid" diet day before surgery 9 Replies, Preparing for Hysterectomy (pre hysterectomy) I too had my LAVH on 11/23 and have not had a BM yet but I was on clear liquids the day before and did a bowel prep then was unable to eat anything solid until 11/26 and it has just been small amounts every day since so I don't think I have anything in there to come out yet. If you aren't doing a bowel prep then eating soft foods and liquids for a day or so might help you be more comfortable after.

To be clear, this info is from my personal experience, please ask your Dr for specifics concerning you. From my experiences, clear liquid diets include- anything liquid you can see through, tea or coffee without cream, broth (either beef or chicken), jello (as long as it isn't red), and I have even had Drs say skim milk ... Mmm mmm!
